The 2024 Employment & Education Fair hosted by the Citxw Nlaka'pamux Assembly (CNA) was well attended by CNA members, employers, organizations, and community members. Held this year at the Merritt Civic Centre, the event aims to provide connections to both CNA members and the broader community.

Linda Davidson, Employment and Training Manager at CNA, expressed her delight at the success of the fair.

"The 2024 Employment & Education Fair was a very successful event. It was incredible to see so many CNA and community members taking advantage of the many resources and connections available to them at an event of this type," she said.

The fair boasted an impressive turnout, with 53 exhibitors offering a diverse array of opportunities, including on-the-spot interviews. From educational institutions to employers and community organizations, the exhibitors provided valuable resources to approximately 450 participants spanning across different age groups, from youth to Elders.

Davidson extended her heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to making the event a success.

"Thank you to all who supported this year's Employment & Education Fair!" she said, acknowledging the collective effort that made the fair possible, including participants and attendees, staff, sponsors, and a generous contribution by Teck HVC. Valley Graze Box was on hand to keep participants and employers fed and ready to connect.

The 2024 Employment & Education Fair served as a beacon of empowerment, offering a platform for individuals to explore avenues for growth and development, and a space for employers to connect with the current and future workforce. Several CNA members, community members, employers and organizations provided feedback throughout the event, remarking on the high number of both participants and employment and education opportunities.
