For immediate release -- October 19, 2023
The Citxw Nlaka’pamux Assembly’s Executive Director, Tamlyn Botel, will be leaving the CNA as of November 10, 2023, to pursue new opportunities and focus on family.
Tamlyn has been an integral part of the organization for the past eight years and has played a significant role in its growth and success by developing strong technical capacity within the organization relating to the mining industry. More recently in her role as Executive Director, Tamlyn has supported the establishment of the organization’s first strategic plan and has brought a renewed focus on staff coaching and development to the organization.
“I have every confidence in the work and positive trajectory of the CNA and look forward to witnessing its further development. I am honoured to have been of service to the organization and its members for the last eight years. We have a strong and dedicated executive management team that will continue our legacy of service to our staff and to our people.” – Tamlyn Botel
Throughout this transitional period, the CNA is unwavering in its commitment to providing ongoing support to the Participating Bands and their members. The Board of Directors and Tamlyn are working closely together to ensure minimal disruptions to operations and staff.
“Tamlyn has been a fundamental piece of the fabric of the Citxw Nlaka’pamux Assembly throughout the past eight years. She was integral in the advancement of the CNA/HVC coauthoring of the sections of the required regulatory documents for the HVC 2040 Environmental Assessment and Permitting Single Application Package. This was to ensure that Nlaka’pamux Knowledge would have equal weighting to Western Science in the application to inform stronger assessments of potential impacts on our interests. This groundbreaking work is just an example of the commitment and energy Tamlyn has brought to the organization. For nearly a year, I have worked alongside Tamlyn in her role as Executive Director and have witnessed her professional and compassionate leadership with her staff and the Board. Her knowledge and understanding of our purpose and agreements has positioned Citxw Nlaka’pamux Assembly on solid footing with a positive path forward.” - Chair Christine Walkem
The Citxw Nlaka’pamux Assembly extends its heartfelt appreciation to Tamlyn for her exceptional service and wishes her the best in her future endeavors.
The CNA Board of Directors will be initiating a search for a new Executive Director.
